Slab Selection
Marble comes to us through our long-standing quarry partners, and every slab is hand-selected on the floor — never from a photograph. Veining, base tone, and movement are evaluated for the room they're destined for, not in isolation.
Bookmatching & Fabrication
Slabs are photographed, numbered, and digitally laid out before any cut. Bookmatched joins — where veining mirrors itself across a seam — are planned to a millimeter. Substrates are furred to align surface planes with adjacent millwork.
Installation
Our installation crew works hand-in-hand with the millwork and tile teams to land slabs the first time, on schedule, with the joins where they were drawn. No surprises, no re-cuts.

Marble runs through nearly every Moros project. The right surface in the right room turns a luxury home into something architectural — and the wrong one becomes a maintenance problem. Our team plans each application against the room’s scale, lighting, and adjacent finishes before the first cut.
Kitchens
Marble kitchen islands and countertops are the most common entry point. Bookmatched islands turn the centerpiece of the room into a single sculpted surface; full-height slab backsplashes eliminate grout lines behind cooktops; mitered waterfall edges drop the same stone to the floor in one continuous read. We coordinate cuts with the millwork team so panels, drawer faces, and stone meet flush, every time.
Bathrooms
Slab walls, full-height showers, continuous vanity tops, and tubs surrounded in book-matched stone. The goal is a quiet room — minimum grout, minimum visual noise, the marble doing the talking. We plan cuts to align with niches, fixture rough-ins, and lighting so plumbing and electrical never break the pattern.
Feature Walls & Entries
Slab installations are often the strongest moment in a luxury home — the foyer wall, the fireplace surround, the stair landing. Single-block bookmatching turns a vertical surface into a piece of architecture in its own right.
Fireplaces & Surrounds
Mitered fireplace surrounds, hearth stones, and full-height fireplace walls integrate with millwork on either side. We engineer the stone substrate around the firebox clearances so nothing telegraphs through the finish surface.
Staircases
Marble risers and treads, slab-faced stair walls, and bookmatched landings. Cut sequencing on a staircase is unforgiving — every tread reads against the one above and below. We dry-lay the entire run before any glue is set.
Outdoor Surfaces
Pool surrounds, terrace tops, outdoor kitchen counters, and exterior stair treads — specified for Miami's UV, salt air, and humidity. Sealing protocol and substrate detailing change for exterior work; we plan that in from the beginning.

Marble is a living material. Sealed and maintained correctly, the same slab that lands beautifully today reads beautifully thirty years from now. Every Moros marble project ships with a written care guide and a maintenance schedule tuned to the surface and the room.
Sealing on a schedule
Marble is reactive to acids — citrus, wine, some cleaners — and the seal protects the surface, not the stone underneath. We document the exact products used on each project and provide a maintenance schedule at handoff. Most kitchens benefit from a re-seal every 12–18 months; bathrooms and feature walls last longer.
Cleaning routines
pH-neutral stone cleaner only — never vinegar, never bleach, never citrus-based products. A daily wipe with a microfiber and warm water handles most kitchen surfaces; a weekly pass with a dedicated stone cleaner keeps the seal performing. We hand off a one-page client cleaning guide with every marble project.
Edge & seam protection
Bookmatched seams need a slightly different routine than the field surface — they're sealed at install but benefit from periodic checks. Edges, especially on islands and waterfall returns, are the first to show wear; we recommend a soft microfiber-only routine in those zones.

Where does Moros source marble?
Marble comes to us through our long-standing quarry partners. The bulk of our material is hand-selected on the slab floor — we don't buy from photographs. For project-specific selection, we walk clients through the slab floor in person.
What is bookmatched marble?
Two consecutive slabs cut from the same block are opened like a book so the veining mirrors itself at the seam. Done correctly, the join becomes invisible and the marble reads as a single, larger pattern. It requires careful slab selection, precise layout, and tight install tolerances — all things our team plans before the first cut.

Can marble work in a Miami kitchen given the climate?
Yes — interior marble is well-suited to Miami climate when sealed and maintained correctly. The bigger climate considerations come up with exterior installations (pool surrounds, terrace counters, outdoor kitchens), where UV exposure, salt air, and humidity all change the substrate and sealing detail. We engineer those differently from interior surfaces.
How is marble different from quartzite or quartz?
Marble is natural stone with mineral veining and a softer surface — it's the most expressive material in the category and the one with the most personality. Quartzite is harder and more acid-resistant but reads more uniform. Engineered quartz is man-made and the most durable, but lacks the depth of natural stone. We work with all three; clients usually choose marble when the room is meant to feel like a piece of architecture.

How long does a marble installation take?
It varies per project. Lead times depend on slab availability, fabrication complexity, room size, and how many surfaces are integrated. A single bathroom is a different timeline from a whole-house program. We give every client a project-specific schedule once the scope and slab selection are locked.

Sometimes. We've worked with client-supplied slabs when the client has a longstanding relationship with a fabricator or has slabs already in inventory. For most projects, sourcing through Moros Marbles is simpler — selection, fabrication, and installation are all under our schedule and our quality standard, with one accountable team if anything needs to be re-cut.
Do you do exterior marble installations?
Yes — pool surrounds, terrace tops, outdoor kitchen counters, exterior stair treads. Exterior work uses different substrates, expansion detailing, and sealing protocols than interior marble. We design those from the beginning so the surface lasts in Miami's UV, salt air, and seasonal humidity.
